An Irish television production about Liam Brady, one of the greatest talents in Irish football history and the first to make it big in Europe. Brady began his career at Arsenal (where he later became a youth coach) before going on to play for Juventus, Inter and Sampdoria.
Filmed in Italy, Ireland and the UK, the documentary follows Brady as he visits old haunts, and recounts his triumphs and disappointments. With revealing interviews, extensive archive footage and never-before-seen personal letters and memorabilia, “Liam Brady: The Irishman Abroad” charts an intimate portrait which includes revelations about the former player’s turbulent relationship with legendary Ireland manager Jack Charlton.
