The film directed by brothers Michael and Jeff Zimbalist, Nossa Chape, won the Thinking Football Film Festival 2019 Audience Award. The documentary, based on the plane crash suffered by the Brazilian team Chapecoense on November, 2016, kicked off the seventh edition of the festival, which came to an end on Friday 22 after an intense week in which 9 high quality feature films were screened. Nossa Chape, a Brazilian production, thrilled the audience that packed the Sala BBK, an audience that was visibly moved and voted for the film.

Michael Zimbalist, one of the film’s directors, Julian Duque, the co-director, and Rafael Henzel, who was on the plane that crashed and was one of the six survivors of the tragedy, attended the screening.

The Athletic Club Foundation, the organiser of the Thinking Football Film Festival, together with Sala BBK and the sponsorship of Euskaltel, would like to thank all those people, media and entities that made it possible for this seventh edition of the festival to be held with great public success, thus consolidating one of the Athletic Club Foundation’s most important cultural initiatives.
