The Greek centre forward Georgios Samaras will be at Sala BBK on Monday at 8:00 pm for the screening of the film Celtic Soul (Michael McNamara, 2016) as part of the Thinking Football Film Festival 2017. The film traces the journey of two Celtic stalwarts, the actor Jay Baruchel and journalist Eoin O’Callaghan, from Canada to Glasgow, to discover their family roots and the social, historical and cultural dimensions of Celtic Football Club.
After the screening, Samaras will chat with director Michael McNamara and journalist Eoin O’Callaghan on what Celtic Football Club means to them. Samaras was a forward at the historic Scottish club between 2008 and 2014, playing more than 150 games, in which he scored 48 goals. Currently, Georgios Samaras is a Real Zaragoza player, a club which the Athletic Club Foundation would like to thank for their cooperation in allowing the Greek to attend Thinking Football.
